Celtic cruised to a 3-1 victory over Hearts in the sweltering heat at Celtic Park this afternoon to join rivals Rangers at the top of the Premiership table with three wins out of three.

A goal from Vakoun Bayo just before the half hour mark broke the deadlock for Neil Lennon's side, with the Ivory Coast youngster given the chance to see what he can do as both Edouard and Griffiths were rested prior to Celtic's must-win Europa League clash with AIK in Sweden.

Callum McGregor then put the Hoops 2-0 up in the 54th minute with an sweet, arrowed strike that flashed past Pereira in the Hearts goal after Celtic capitalised on Hearts midfielder Damour's slackness in possession.

While Bayo showed how good a player he could turn out to be for Neil Lennon's side by putting Celtic 3-0 up with his second via a lovely flick off the back of an Ayer cross while under all sorts of pressure.

The only negative point was Brown giving away a penalty with a clumsy challenge (the second in a couple of weeks). While Forster saved the initial penalty, Washington bundled home to rebound to make it 3-1.

While Bayo will obviously steal all the headlines for his performance, plenty of Celtic fans will be breathing a sigh of relief after Bolingoli's decent performance this afternoon off the back of his less than impressive starts to date.

Looked sharp and dare-we-say-it an altogether different player from previous weeks. About time given the fee the Hoops paid to bring the defender to the club.
