Victor Wanyama has teased he could return to Celtic one day as he looks set to leave Spurs this summer.

The former Hoops star is in talks with Belgian side Bruges over a reported £11million deal. But before he seals his move, he was on the phone to congratulate his former team-mate and new Celtic signing Fraser Forster.

Forster, who has reunited with Neil Lennon, on a season-long loan deal from Southampton revealed Wanyama was on the phone to him after the keeper choose to wear his old no.67 shirt.

Forster said: "I picked it, yeah. Victor was straight onto me after the game.

"He's on at me saying ‘keep my shirt warm for a bit!’"

He said: "It's all about performance. Football is for today and tomorrow, not yesterday.

"You always need to show that you are there and deserve (to be there).

"In the case of Victor, he suffered an injury and another player stepped up and took his place. We are in a team, we are not a charity.

"Victor is a very important player and, for different circumstances, went backwards.“That is the evolution of football and things like that happen naturally at all clubs."
