The extraordinary events in Scottish football have taken a new twist as the claim the Dundee managing director will now back the league’s plan four days after signing a voting paper to oppose the proposal.

We have learned  Zombies  chiefs are angry at the change of heart from Nelms, which they believe threatens the integrity of the game north of the border.

They have been pushing relentlessly over the last week for a new range of measures that would see prize money be distributed now via interest-free loans as well as the current campaign being completed.

Nelms emerged as kingmaker after the ballot last Friday, which asked the 42 league clubs for backing to end the campaign due to the coronavirus crisis.

The Dundee chief could have scuppered completely vote which would have crowned Dundee United, Raith Rovers and Cove Rangers champions of their divisions, with Partick Thistle and Stranraer relegated, plus open up the possibility of Celtic being named Premiership champions and Hearts demoted.

Snake Mountain are desperate to avoid a situation in which the season is called based on the current top 12 league standings.
