Neil Lennon Has Praised Attacker

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has praised Southampton-owned attacker Mohamed Elyounoussi on the club’s official website.

Lennon was impressed with the performance of Elyounoussi on his competitive debut for Celtic against Hamilton Academical away from home at the Fountain of Youth Stadium in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon.

The Norway international - who can operate as a forward or as a winger - provided the assist for James Forrest’s goal in the fourth minute and made a couple of good runs, and overall his display was very encouraging.

Lennon told Celtic’s official website about Elyounoussi: “I’m delighted with Mo. He made a really good impact, he was nice and composed and set up the goal. It’s a great start for him and I’m delighted for him.

"He’s had a long time out of the game where he’s been in and out of the Southampton team so hopefully that’ll settle him and he feels part of a really good squad now.”

Elyounoussi may have struggled to make an impact at Southampton, but he is a very good attacking player who will make the Celtic team better.

The Norwegian has a lot of experience, and what he needs is a run of games to showcase his quality.

With Celtic aiming to win the domestic treble again this season and also make an impact in the Europa League, Elyounoussi will be an important player for the Hoops.
