Celtic Striker Scott Sinclair On Brink Of Championship Move
Celtic striker Scott Sinclair is in talks with Preston over a transfer.

Celtic striker Scott Sinclair is in talks with Preston over a transfer.

The Daily Record report that Celtic attacker Sinclair jetted back from the Scottish side's winter training camp in Dubai to open negotiations with Alex Neil over a move to the Championship side.

Stoke City are also monitoring the situation, but the Lilywhites' approach is official and was made to Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell.

The ex-Aston Villa and West Brom man is in the last six months of his contract north of the border, meaning Preston could nab the forward for a cut-price fee.

A source said: “It looks as if a move at this stage would be in the best interests of all parties.”

Thirty-year-old Sinclair played a huge part in Swansea 's promotion from the Championship under Brendan Rodgers, scoring the goals that took them into the play-offs before grabbing a hat-trick in the final against Reading.

Rodgers and Sinclair would be reunited at Park Head years later, but the former Chelsea starlet has fallen out of favour since the Northern Irishman's departure to Leicester City.

Sinclair has hit 62 goals in 167 games since joining from Aston Villa in the summer of 2016.
