Celtic Could Be Set For Europa League Boost
Celtic could be set for a Europa League boost as Rennes star M'Baye Niang is a doubt for their clash against the Hoops.

Celtic could be set for a Europa League boost as Rennes star M'Baye Niang is a doubt for their clash against the Hoops.

The former AC Milan striker missed the French side's draw with Brest at the weekend and could miss the contest on Thursday night.

Rennes boss Julien Stephan says the club will have to monitor the 24-year-old as he injured his knee in training. He said: "Mbaye got a blow to his knee on training this week and that was enough to keep him out of the game.

"As for Celtic, it's just a case of monitoring him on a day-to-day basis to see if he has a chance of being fit for the match this week."

Niang was the Ligue 1 side's top goalscorer last season and adds to Rennes injury worries as Metehan Guclu and Gerzino Nyamsi have both been ruled out of the group opener.

A loss of any the players mentioned is good news for Celtic but they have a good strong squad and anyone they bring is more than capable , this is going to be one hard game on Thursday .
